Supplies

One freezer safe bowl

Paper

Pen

Bring your bowl filled with water and your supplies to your altar/space. Prepare yourself and your space accordingly. When you are ready, write down what you wish to release on your paper, this could be habits, ways of thinking, qualities...etc

As you are writing send all the negativity into the words you are writing and into the paper, making it as specific and personal as possible.

Place the fingers of your projective hand into the water and say:

You are a vehicle of transformation (or something similar in your own words)

Place the paper into the bowl of water and once you are ready place it in the freezer or outside if it is cold enough to freeze it.

Once frozen bring some water to a boil in your cauldron or in a pot on the stove. Remove your ice from the bowl. Place the ice into the boiling water and say,

On this winters night,

Your power over me,

With this rite,

Is melted away and set free,

By the full moons light

So mote it be.

(or something similar that feels right to you)

As the ice block melts, setting the paper free, visualize yourself being purified and these issues being released from you. They are now gone.

*Supplies Variation:

One freezer safe bowl

One smaller freezer safe bowl

Tape

Paper

Pen

Filler decorations of your choice, whatever makes you feel in the winter spirit or whatever you have on hand. Examples could be evergreen, pine, red berries, mini pine cones, orange slices, star anise...etc.

*Variation: place a second smaller bowl in the center of the larger bowl and place tape connecting the bowls together, holding the small bowl in place in the center. Fill the gap with the seasonal items that you wish and freeze.

Once frozen take you ice out of the bowl. Make sure it is warm enough outside to melt your bowl. Instead of using boiling water you can set your bowl outside to melt into the earth. Speak your intentions clearly and perform your spell, your problems being released as your bowl melts into the Earth.
