Tarot Tuesday: April 7, 2020

This week we have chosen an antique horse shoe, an ammonite fossil, and an agarita wood burl. The decks used are a wooden deck made by Spirit + Bones, and the fountain tarot.

1./// horseshoe, the fool, 10 of coins rx
Horseshoes have commonly been associated with good luck and protection, but they can also be used for cleansing. This shoe has seen its fair share of work, and has been cast off by the original wearer Goddess knows how long ago. Gamblers were known for having lucky charms, and this was a very common one. Its said that if you hang a horseshoe upside-down it will catch the good luck and ensure that it doesn’t run out. They are also considered a protection symbol because of their use to protect horses hooves from chips and rocks. They are also made from iron, which is known for its protective energy.
The fool is a card of new beginnings and journeys. This card speaks to lots of new potential, which is perfect for the season. This card pictures an acorn, which is latent with potential just ready to give birth to a new tree. What ideas are you currently manifesting? How can you bring the energy of the acorn into your life? One thing to keep in mind is that every answer is a no if you don’t begin. A lot of our inner critics are strong, and hold us back more than any failure every could. Making mistakes is part of the process.
10 of coins reversed is a card that speaks to financial trouble. Lots of folks are being financially affected by the stay at home orders and quarantines currently in place all over the world. Unfortunately things seem to be getting worse before they get better. Don’t play into the mindset of being defeated. Take the time to make a plan, and be prepared for what may come.

Ammonites are fossilizes prehistoric creatures which represent both water and earth elements. There energy is grounding and drawing. Their spiral shape helps bring in our desires as well as draw out out negativity. They help bring abundance and prosperity into our lives. As with anything spiral shaped, we chose whether it is pulling in or pushing out energy.
The emperor is card that shows up when things are going well in life. You may feel like you’ve finally hit your stride with your life. The road is never easy to get to this point, but definitely worth while. This card features a mountain peak for a reason. It is about the journey getting to the top. The feeling of accomplishment and pride in yourself for having come so far. Most importantly to remember, the journey is only half way finished. You still have to climb down, but the hard work has already been expended. Take the time to revel in your victories. You deserve to celebrate!!
Page of cups speaks to curiosity, new beginnings and gaining emotional maturity. Be on the look out for new opportunities. Open your heart to your creative potential. You have the capability to do all of those wishes and dreams. Follow the Page of cups lead, explore the world with wonder and possibility.
3./// agarita wood burl, the lovers rx, the wheel of fortune rx, hanged man rx
Agarita is a small shrub that grows in the Texas Hill Country, along with other places. It has leaves similar to holly, and berries which can be eaten or made into Jelly. Its yellow flowers are the sweetest smell and signal one of the first signs of spring. This plant is frequently a shelter for animals and smaller more vulnerable plants. Its bark contains anti-viral elements. For these reasons this plant speaks to protection from harm and safe haven.
The lovers reversed can mean two things, a need for self love or a potential separation from someone you love. This card calls you to address any potential rifts in your relationships, including your relationship with self. What solutions can you find? Can you give grace and forgiveness or is it necessary to begin to forage new pathways? The choice is up to you, but now is the perfect chance to leave behind anything that no longer suits you.
The Wheel Of Fortune Reversed tends to mean that a situation has taken a turn for the worse. All situations are temporary, but now is the time for unexpected changes and upheaval. Sometimes when things get bad, the best course of action is to ride the waves of life. We never know what the world holds for us, and our path is never linear. It is up to you to decide what to do with this. Perception is everything and we create our own reality on decision at a time.
The hanged man reversed calls you to look at the patterns of behavior in your life before making any choice. Are you repeating the same cycles over and over? Is your behavior reckless or impulsive? Sometimes jumping into a quick decision can be very detrimental, when your emotional response is the driving force. Take time before jumping to any conclusion. What is the best course of action for your personal well-being?
