For this reading we have some oregano, a desert rose selenite, and an antler shed tine. The decks we used are the Waite-Smith deck, the Alchemical tarot, and a wooden deck made by @spirit.and.bones .

1./// oregano, 4 of pentacles, queen of vessels, the sun rx

Oregano is an herb of many uses, in fact, many of us have it in our cupboards already. It can help boost love and joy, but also represents protection. This herb calls to many of us kitchen witches as we add it to our sauces to boost happiness in our family.

The 4 of pentacles is a card that depicts someone holding onto their material possessions much too tightly. Hoarding, or clinging behavior causes stagnation on the things we are trying to so desperately save. Now this doesn’t always suggest finances, even though that is typically what the suit of pentacles suggests. It could also be a relationship you are trying to keep or a job you are worried about losing. The tighter you cling to something, the more it wants to escape from you!

The queen of vessels looks upon her sealed cup with a smile. She holds a secret that only she keeps sealed up tight. Something tells me if her secret were to get out, she may not be as pleased. This card deals with emotions and relationships, for some reason I am feeling a bit of infidelity. This queen hold all the power within her sealed cup, not beholden to anyone, reveling in her power.

When reversed, the sun card points to a disharmony in the family or your community. A wet towel on your fire, so to speak. This card says that there is something standing in the way of your happiness. Possibly boredom, or an overly judgmental mindset. Take a step back and truly look at what is keeping you from your joy. Often we can just adjust our mindset and expectations, and the situation be resolved. Are you being realistic with yourself?

2.///desert rose selenite, page of wands rx, 6 of coins rx, the lovers

Selenite is a crystal that is said to be self cleansing, with the ability to remove negative energy from things in close proximity to it. Desert rose is a special formation of selenite, which is said to house a spirit guide in each cluster. It relates to the moon, but also has a hint of love involved similar to rose quartz.

When the page of wands shows up reversed, it can indicate that you are to be facing delays and stagnation. Your vitality may feel dried up like the desert that surrounds this person. The world may seem ungrounded, like you are walking on shifting sands. Your confidence and sure footing see far away, and you may be feeling uncertain and frustrated. Take a look at your actions and see what has brought you into this place. Have you been making irresponsible choices, or failing to look after your basic needs? Do you feel worn out and dry, from too much hard work?

The 6 of coins rx suggests that you have been taking life too seriously, and have lost touch with your inner child. Play and fun is a very important aspect of our lives, and allows us the mental space to recharge when things feel heavy. Take some time to touch base with your inner self, ask them what they need right now. Its probably more bubbles! Well maybe not, but it never hurts to try!

The lovers card is one of union and harmony. It calls you to bask in the glow of love, be it self love, romantic love, love of art, whatever sparks your soul right now! Which is perfect timing, on the cusp of Beltane. Let loose and fill your soul full of those things that nourish it so deeply.

3.///antler shed, ace of cups rx, death rx, judgement rx

Antlers are shed every year by male deer after mating season has completed. Their testosterone levels go down, and the blood supply shuts off. The process signals a time when one cycle ends and another begins, of new growth. These horns also help dictate the health of the animal. Sometimes wounded animals will grow antlers abnormally on the opposite side of the body. This can be directly compared to how our insecurities, hurts and emotional wounds can manifest themselves are psychical symptoms of DIS-EASE.

Ace of cups depicts a cup overflowing with water (emotion). Happiness, tranquility and the possibility of newness radiate. However when this card appears reversed it can indicate negative emotions, and an inability to let go of the past. You are the thing causing your cup to spill over, and not because its overflowing but because your focus on the shadow of the unreal. Do not let your perceptions or past keep influencing the present. Call your attention back to the present and allow space for new beginnings.

Death reversed also tells of the end of cycles, but the inability to move on from them. Allow your hurt to flow through your body like water. Accept the grief so it doesn’t continue to cause problems down the line. When emotions are repressed this causes energy blockages which can then be manifested more strongly down the road if they continue to be improperly addressed. Death of one thing allows rebirth into something new. If your life feels stifled and small, this is a sign that you are about to be reborn into a new cycle. But in order to do so, you have to let what no longer serves you die.

When Judgement appears reversed it can indicate that you are being harshly judged or that this fear of judgement is holding you back. This can manifest as imposter syndrome, or letting your inner critic speak too loudly. Fear is a program in our brains that keeps us safe from harm. However sometimes it can malfunction, and appear at times when we are in no real danger. Allowing fear to take the reins over our lives can be more dangerous sometimes than the act it’s try to save us from. To speak plainly, no one ever died from sharing too much of themselves or their passions. However many have died with regrets from past lives unlived due to fear.
