Tarot Tuesday Reveal: June 16, 2020
Welcome to our weekly community tarot reading. If you feel called to participate, take a couple deep breaths and allow your mind to settle onto a pile of cards that resonates with you. Once you’ve decided, scroll down to see your cards and read our intrepretation.
For this week we are featuring 3 witches burrs, a vintage bottle, and 3 ocean pebbles. The decks we used are the Hardy Tarot, the Many Queens Tarot, and a wooden deck made by Jane Jackalope.
Since this reading is for so many people, you may find that not all of it resonates with you. Take what is meaningful and leave what isn’t. If you did find this helpful, let us know in the comments section! We love hearing your feedback.
1.///witches burrs, 3 of cups, 10 of wands rx, the chariot rx
Witches burrs come from the sweet gum tree, and are found all over the American south. They can be used for protection, as well as curse breaking, and banishing. Because of their spikes, they can be used to harm or to protect. The energy is very similar to a roses’ thorns. It depends on your perspective to whether they are harmful or helpful. You may find your perspective changes when they have been used against you. They are perfect for putting up and maintaining boundaries.
3 of cups is a card of celebration, and friendship. You will find lots of joy, overflowing emotions and things that fill up the soul. With summer solstice right around the corner, this is the perfect card to encourage lively celebrations and jubilation!
10 of wands, when reversed, can indicate that you have taken on too much responsibility and have dropped the ball. Your load is heavy and sometimes it is easy to have some things fall through the cracks. Pick up the fallen pieces- or don’t, it’s up to you. You get to decide how to move forward from this point. Don’t dwell on the things you can’t fix, move forward with positive steps to make your life easier to manage. Implement some strategies and systems to prevent this from happening again in the future.
When the Chariot shows up reversed, I like to view it as flipped over. You had an accident, things flew out of your control and now your stuck- unable to move forward with your plans. Don’t try to place blame, or look to get upset. Sometimes these things happen and we have no choice in the matter- especially since Mercury Rx is here. What you do have control over is how you handle the situation. Practice discipline with your emotional response and act in a way that is in line with your highest good.
2.///vintage bottle, the fool rx, the high priestess rx, justice
This empty bottle represents potential. It can be filled with so many different things. The choice is up to you. Keep in mind that just because it’s filled with one thing- does not mean it will stay that way forever. This bottle has the ability to be filled and emptied as many times as you have patience. As with any vessel, I like to relate it to our internal emotional state. I’m sure you’ve heard the term “bottling it up” when referring to emotions. Take some time to asses what is inside your bottle, and if it is still serving you in the way you would like. If not- possibly its time to unload somethings.
As many of us know, the fool represent new beginnings. When reversed it can indicate the negative side of those things. Often we find ourselves feeling insecure about our footing and position in the world. Sometimes we try to smother our innocence as quickly as possible, as if it is something shameful. There is nothing wrong with admitting you don’t know something. On the other hand, it is also important to try to educate yourself as best as possible because ignorance does not excuse you from acting recklessly or harmfully. Embrace the newness as an opportunity, and give yourself the chance to be free from burdens.
When reversed, the high priestess can indicate that there is some unseen truth that you are not acknowledging or privy to. You could be being misled or wrongly led to believe something. Be wary of hidden agendas and anyone trying to force their dogma onto you. Do your research. Take everything with a grain of salt. Be receptive, but not led. It is possible that you have some inner truths that you are refusing to acknowledge. Please also keep in mind that sometimes your initial thoughts are betrayals- What I mean to say is that they have been programed by others. Our snap judgements and negative self talk can be a sign of manipulation of the past. Listen to the thoughts to see if they are actually in line with your beliefs, or if they sounds like they’re coming from someone else. Often our inner critics come in the voices of those who claimed to have our best interest at heart.
Justice represents the Karmic scales of life. As it’s said- truth will out. Actions of falsehood and untruth will be accounted for, and doled out the appropriate response. Sometimes the picture is bigger than you can imagine, and when the wheels seem to move slowly, its usually because of this. It is not for you to decide, and attempt to right every wrongdoing in this world. You do you, and the universe will handle the details.
3.///ocean pebbles, 7 of cups rx, temperance rx, the high priestess rx
These ocean stones have been dislodged from their place of stillness and comfort, battered by waves, and been turned over and over in sand until they have been worn down. Now we find their edges pleasing to touch, often providing calmness and representing tranquility. Its a beautiful metaphor for the process of gaining wisdom. We do not wake up one day and suddenly find all the answers. It is only through becoming uncomfortable and having our worlds turned upside down do we truly begin the process of learning. It is NOT EASY and it is NOT PLEASANT. So when you are facing a storm in your life, face it knowing that this is the path to wisdom. It will shape you in ways you have never imagined, however your core will remain the same. You are still in there, made of the same stuff. What is left is that which is strong enough to handle the storm.
The seven of cups reversed is a card that represents many choices- an illusion of smoke and mirrors. It is so easy these days to look at the lives of others present through social media, and to find yourself feeling inadequate. It is also very common to put up a front of your own in order to feel a little less vulnerable. Avoid performative actions, and instead allow yourself to become more authentic. It is not necessary to put your bleeding heart onto a tray to be consumed by others. However, your choice to express yourself in a real way may be helpful to someone else who is struggling. You will continue to feel alone until you open up and speak your truth. Otherwise no one will know what you’re going through, and you deprive yourself of meaningful interactions and conversations with those you care about.
Temperance reversed shows us our imbalance. Instead of a perfectly circular exchange of liquid (emotion) from one cup to another, we have leaks and spillage. Our cup is being drained, and with every exchange we loose something. Is this happening because you’re not paying close attention to your actions- are you being careless with yourself? Are you relying too heavily on substances that put a damper on your abilities? Is there a hole in your cup? What I’m trying to get at is that you need to address your energy and see how and where it is leaking. Evaluate your actions and investments of time and effort, see where they are being returned and where they aren’t. Stop pouring yourself into cups that don’t give you back what your put into them.
The high priestess reversed is a card that can indicate hidden agendas, unconscious manipulation and self doubt. It can also indicate denials of your inner truth. Are you brain and heart on the same page? What about your guts? Often these physical response can indicate unconscious energy stores and blockages. Are you feeling heavy in certain areas? Explore that. Also it is important to know that you don’t have to believe everything you thing. Sometimes we have been programmed or manipulated by others for so long, our knee jerk reactions are not our own. Listen to what you tell yourself and if it’s not in line with your highest and greatest good- it’s time for you to have a talk with yourself.
