Tarot Tuesday Reveal: May 19, 2020
Welcome back for the reveal of our weekly community reading! Scroll down to see you pile of cards and to read our interpretation! This week has been a dozy for a lot of us! Take what resonates, and leave the rest. We hope this reading provides some guidance for ya! Be sure to let us know if you enjoyed this.
For this week we have a dried rose, a very holy hag stone, and a wild turkey wing segment. The decks we used are the Hardy Tarot, the Many Queens Tarot, and a Wooden Deck made by Jane Jackalope over at Spirit + Bones.
1.///dried rose, 7 of wands rx, empress rx, strength
Roses are symbolic of love, friendship, beauty and life. This one has been dried to preserve it for future enjoyment. Sometimes, trying to savor things leads to them spoiling before we can truly indulge in their delicious beauty. Often when we find ourselves clinging to moments or people, we are not being fully present in the moment of the actual enjoyment! Whether its from behind the smart phone, trying to capture the fleeting moment on film, or admiring a treasured object from pedestal. Try to remove the need to hang onto moments of things, and truly dive in and enjoy them while they’re around. Holding on can sometimes keep you back from the beautiful things to come in your future. Release and let go for new growth.
7 of wands reversed says that you may be feeling like the world is against you. Everyone’s holding a torch to your feet, stirring up arguments or insecurities. Sometimes, this is just our brain playing tricks or our wounded ego crying out. Right now, address these feelings by going deep into your shadow and see what is causing this. Often when others upset us, it is a mirror towards a shadow aspect of ourselves we are unhappy with. Address these beliefs and realize that they no longer serve you. This new moon is the perfect time to break old cycles and start new patterns.
The Empress reversed suggests you are feeling disempowered. This can be caused by a lack of balance in your life, whether it is your work/life, your past/present thoughts, or even your energetic balance. The new moon is the prefect time to call your power back to you. By placing blame for these difficult feelings outside of yourself, you are removing your responsibility. Every emotion we feel is a choice, if you feel otherwise you are giving away your power. Address your feelings by going deep, interview yourself-ask the questions that you wish others would; and give your true answers. Now is the time to be truthful- no more “I’m fine-It’s Ok”. Allow yourself to be vulnerable with yourself!
Strength is a card that evokes feelings of persistence, perseverance, and overcoming struggle. Its a perfect card to show up at the end of this reading because it means you will be victorious! However, this does not mean its an easy road. This card calls you to confront your issues head on, and by the teeth! You are going to have to put up a fight in order to survive. There is no victory if there is no battle. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the actions in spite of terror. Trust in your guides, and know that something better lays on the other side of the scary things in your way!
2.///holy hag stone, 10 of disks rx, the chariot rx, judgement
This hag stone is made from lime rock, which is the bedrock of most places. Its composed of many layers of sediment, compressed over time eventually turning into stone. Traditionally hag stones are said to offer protection, and views into other worlds through their holes. This stone represents a liminal space, a boundary between worlds. It can represent the boundary between our world and the underworld, between life & death, seen & unseen. It holds space for both Earth and Air. It allows space for movement and stillness. Duality.
Ten of disks suggests financial disappointment, or setbacks. You’ve worked super hard, but the rewards haven’t been what you’ve expected. This is never good news, unfortunately. However, its rare that the universe shuts a door without opening another, and usually its just saying-”Not right now”. Don’t live in denial. The cards don’t lie. If this resonates with you, time to sit down and address what is really going on. Your hand is being guided. Don’t continue down a path that doesn’t serve yourself. Even if you have to start over, its never truly from scratch. Take what you’ve learned and apply these lessons to future ventures.
The Chariot reversed is another card that suggest set backs, not going where you hoped and a loss of control. You can imagine riding a chariot so hard the wheels fall off, or having too loose a reign over your horses and they run wild. So even though things may not be going the way you would have hoped, we all have choices and some assemblance of control over our lives. If you find a situation is becoming unhealthy or dangerous, GET OUT QUICK. Don’t wait for things to hit the fan or the bottom to fall out. Make the choice to put your well-being and livelihood first. This goes for jobs, relationships, friendships- anything you put effort and energy into. Evaluate it, and don’t continue to spiral.
As Judgement shows up at the end of this reading, it calls you to choose. On the other side of this choice lies bliss, happiness and everything you desire. Sometimes you have to pull the band-aid off quickly in order to properly heal. Only you can make the decision, but be aware that sometimes by not making the decision, that is a choice. Rebirth is a beautiful thing, but never painless. You have to sometimes kill off what is not serving you in order to allow room for the good stuff to enter.
3.///wild turkey wing segment, 9 of cups rx, death rx, the fool
Wild Turkeys to me represent ancestors, family dream work and cunning. They are some of the most intelligent game birds, able to allude even the most skilled hunters. Their beautiful plumage is used by many cultures in sacred ceremony to represent abundance and prosperity.
When 9 of cups shows up reversed, it can be that our emotional needs are not being met in the way that we had expected. This can lead to dissatisfaction and resentment. When you begin to feel this way, look inwards and find out just exactly what your expectations were. Once you can clearly define them, you can move forward with meeting them. A lot of times, our inner child can point us towards what we need most. This can be a result of how we were taught to handle things by those closest to us. But that doesn’t necessarily mean its the correct way. Address what coping mechanisms you have learned to handle life events. This card can indicate blockages in your life, and energy flow.
Death reversed can indicate a resistance to change, or a reliance on the past. Cycles of life come and go, death is not a negative card- but when things are not allowed to die or cycle, this creates stagnation. Nobody wants to be a Zombie. Let the past die and remove your fears of change.
The fool is a breath of fresh air on the winds of change. It calls you to new beginnings and play. Unleash yourself and allow space for play. Wander without a direction. Its ok to not know exactly what’s going on. Its so perfect for this card to show up after death reversed, because it shows the possibility open to you once you step out of your comfort zone.
