1.///wild turkey leg, the hanged man rx, the heirophant rx

Wild turkey are some of the most cunning creatures in the forest. They represent bounty, fertility, family, and ancestors. This leg gives off really strong Baba Yaga vibes. She is one deity that you don’t mess around with. Her wisdom is sharp, and she will not let you leave without accomplishing your tasks.

Take the hanged man reversed as sign that you might be missing the point, or having an important message pass you by. You need to take a moment and address the apathy you are feeling towards life, Are you getting the same messages over and over? What signs are you ignoring or letting pass by. You have to do the work, or else you’ll remain stuck, just like the hanged man. You have the potential to learn a very important lesson, but you are disengaged for the situation.

The heirophant reversed calls you to approach your situation from a non-traditional point of view. It might also be showing up because of your clinging to rigid standards of success or that you are having trouble with an authority figure in your life. How can you adjust your perspective so that you are able to be happy? It’s not always a change of situation that’s necessary, sometimes its a simple as a change in perspective. If you feel frustrated, rememeber its you who gets to program your reality. What can you change up to revitalize your life?

2.///dyed skunk skull, eight of swords, the hermit

Skunks are creatures that use scent as a weapon. They are able to escape situations by being repulsive. This is a very effective technique for them to escape life threatening situations, but if leaves most folks put off, choosing to head the opposite direction instead of crossing paths; Usually for fear of inadvertently upsetting this creature. This skull asks you to address your relationship with trauma and how you may have coped with it in the past. Are you putting up walls out of defensiveness, or are folks walking on eggshells in fear of upsetting you? Are your reactions still relevant to the situations, or have they become exaggerated due to past hurts?

Eight of swords is a card that usually signifies great sadness, mental health issues, and darker emotions like fear. In this reading it might mean you are struggling with PTSD, or some trauma based reaction. You might also be actively going through a crisis state. These words might be hard to hear, but you need to realize that you have power over your life and personhood. If that means you need to remove yourself from the situation, do so. If it means that you need to address your victim-hood, do so. We all have choices to make, and your happiness is just on the other side of fear. Know that you have control of your own suffering, whether it is refusing to acknowledge what you really need, or dwelling on those who have hurt you in the past. Internalizing your pain and fear will not solve your problem. The only way out is through release.

When the hermit shows up, you are called to a period of deep searching. You are to find your inner truth on this path, which is no easy task. It will be dark, and lonely, no one else can do it for you. The rewards are great once you cross the threshold from seeker to finder. The wisdom is hard won, the dark night of the soul will have carved it out for you to fill up with answers. The deeper you go, the more you will find. Now is a time for shadow work, isolation, and asking the hard questions. You might also consider seeking out someone who can help guide you along this path, like a therapist or old friend. They can help light the path for you, but only you can walk it.

3./// egg, princess of cups rx, the sun rx

As most of us know, eggs are symbols of fertility and rebirth. They are frequently associated with the coming of springtime, and the light months of the year. However, this egg has been removed from its natural cycle to become a part of our human needs. So this reading is almost like egg reversed (if that makes sense). This egg’s sole purpose now is to become a building block for a larger force. Or it can be seen as a menstrual cycle. Cleansing of an energy, the end of a cycle.

The princess of cups reversed might suggest an idea of your creation that you have not given light yet. This is possibly due to your inner critic being too strong, or because of you inability to say yes to your true desire. The card normally signifies creative budding, growth and new possibility. However when reversed, it indicates that there is some form of blockage happening.

The sun reversed speaks to these issues as well. Normally this card represents birth, fertility and new ideas, however in the reversed state it can be very similarly associated with the egg reversed. This reading calls you to look into your dreams and goals, and see what is actually holding you back? Have you started to pursue any of these things, or is fear of failure holing you back? Once you realize that killing your dreams before even attempting them is the quickest way to failure, hopefully you can begin to move forward with a new cycle. One of the most liberating things is saying yes to yourself. These inner voices and critics are almost never our own, but those dumped on us by our perception of what others expected from us. This is a time for you to realize that your past programming may have failed you, but you have the ability to re-parent yourself. Take hold of your dreams and move forward with them instead of aborting the idea before even starting.
