We hope this reading resonates with you! Be sure to let us know if it does, we love to hear your feedback .
1./// silver spoon, death rx, the lovers rx
This silver spoon has a beautiful relief sculpture of a miner in Prescott, AZ. Typically when you think of silver spoon, the idiom ‘born with a silver spoon in their mouth’ comes to mind. Meaning a person is well of from birth. Seeing as how that is not the case with most folks these days, this spoon represents family ties and how they come to effect our lives. The miner asks us to dig deep and see what healing needs to occur. Like diamonds forming under pressure, our family wounds are the things that shape our personality. We are taught from birth to act a certain way, love a certain way, and navigate the world in a certain way. At some point, we have to take a look at our programing and see if it is still serving us.
That is where death reversed comes into play. It calls you to examine your oldest programing, long term illness & mental health struggles. Look and see what guilt you may be holding onto that no longer is relevant. Look at what baggage you may have been unknowingly carrying along your whole life. Now let go of those things. The voice in your head that speaks in the tone of those who have failed you. Release that pain & anger you have carried for so long. Realize that forgiveness is a balm for the soul, more-so than drinking poison hoping someone else will die!
The lovers reversed calls you to focus inward. Self-love is not just a buzz word, or a synonym for bubble baths & a solid skin care routine (although those things are WONDERFUL). True self love means taking the time to listen to the parts of your soul that get ignored because they are inconvenient. Unraveling the reasons why you can’t seem to commit to your goals & dreams. Taking the dive into the abyss of the shadow world, and seeing what spirits are lurking there, silently sucking away at your glory. Shine a light on those things and realize that you are still whole, in spite of them! Accept that darkness is a womb, and birth is fucking painful. So is the blinding light that comes immediately afterwards. No one figures it out right away. You have to learn to love yourself in spite of your shadow, and let go of trying to be perfect. In fact, just let go of trying. Just be! Trying implies something other than doing. Accept yourself without trying. Right now. As you are. You don’t have to change to be loved. You are whole & complete. Give yourself the love you have been withholding. You deserve it more than anyone.
2./// ocean stone, the tower rx, the empress rx
This ocean stone was once part of a larger whole. It has broken away and become battered and worn by the ocean that enveloped it during its journey. Now it lays changed and softened by the very world that formed it. Such is the process of trauma. Grief is something that shapes our lives, even without realizing it sometimes. Its like the gentle process of erosion. As we have been broken by the traumas found in our past, we find a new life on the other side. We are not able to see the process from an outside perspective, and at first we find it with sharp edges and crumbling footing. Falling down, over and over again until gradually the sharpness is worn away and we learn to roll. Eventually we settle into a new calm, where our understanding of the world may have changed, and peace has found us at last. This process is long, and never easy; however, it does get softer over time.
The tower reversed speaks to the traumas of the past. I liken it to our emotional states- the higher we build it, the further there is to fall. In the case of this reversed card, I liken the tower to a well. We are falling down this dark space that we have dug emotionally, unsure of how deep it goes and when we will hit bottom. Like all things must come to an end, so does our grief of the past. One beautiful thing about hitting the bottom, while it does hurt, is that we have found firm footing to climb upwards once more. If we apply the principles of life here, we know that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so begin the climb and come back to the light.
Normally the empress is a card of powerful intuition, fertility and calm assertiveness. When reversed it can indicate unhappy relationships, unwanted pregnancy, and lots of self doubt. Like water, this card can be powerful and life giving, or it can be like the ocean of feeling that is ready to swallow you whole. The best thing to do when faced with this type of energy is to quit struggling. Surrender yourself to the forces at work and trust that no amount of strong arming will help get you closer to your desired outcome. Gently direct your efforts into escaping the rip current that drug you so far off course. You will make it back to dry land soon, just try to keep your head above water.
3./// sorrel, 5 of cups rx, the hermit rx
Sorrel is a dried bud of hibiscus flower, often used for teas and cool drinks. It has many healing properties similar to cranberry and rose hips. It is very good for those of us with wombs. This is a beautiful flower that is associated with the goddess Kali, and also with self-love & healing, as well as a connection with ancestors. Its help can draw passion back into our lives, and ignite sexual energy. This flower is delicate and draws itself in to protect itself at night. It may speak to those of us who become easily overwhelmed by the intense energy of others, and retreat into ourselves for security. The duality of this plant is wonderful because it speaks to the introvert. Those who find power in small spaces where we come out of our shells.
The five of cups reversed calls you out from your cave and back to the world. Come safely from your internal travels and know that you will be embraced by those who you find on the other side. Take what you have learned and teach others. Talk about your journey! You will be surprised. These people will be interested in what you have to say! You may be in the broom closet or just being called as a teacher. Take this as a sign to make your way out, seeking safe spaces and communities. These places you will find your tribe, and those who will help you to understand what you are learning by teaching. Its a common misconception that you must be a master to teach. However, speaking from your personal experiences can greatly help shine a light for those who might be intimidated by others.
The hermit reversed also is a card that calls for you to come back into the world. You have done your seeking, and now is the time to rejoin others so everyone can benefit from the fruits of your solitude. Trust your experience and open up to those who may benefit from the fruits of knowledge you have gathered. Be sure to leave your fears and self doubts behind you. You are no master, but you are walking the path and no is not the time to question your footing. Trust the process and know that you are being divinely guided. Now is your time to shine!
