Tarot Tuesday: March 24, 2020
Welcome to another edition of our Tarot Tuesday!
We hope you are staying well (inside, if possible!) and safe. If you feel called to participate in this reading, take a moment of pause for a few deep breaths and allow your mind to come to settle onto a pile of cards that resonates with you. After you’ve decided, scroll down to see your cards and read our interpretation.
We hope this reading resonates with you! We love to hear your feedback, so be sure to let us know what you think!
1./// hawk feather, strength, empress, 7 of disks
Hawks are know for their keen vision, and predatory skills. They have strong intuition and don’t hesitate when the time is right to make a decision. You can expect to need their observational powers during these times. Don’t second guess yourself or you will miss out on your opportunity.
Strength is a card that calls you to persist, in spite of the odds that may be stacked against you. Things may seem grim now, but there is still hope as long as you continue to try. Don’t allow weakness or self doubt to stand in your way of accomplishing your vision. This is a great sign telling you to hold on, you’re nearly there! You will overcome.
Another powerful card!! The Empress is here to reaffirm your position of power. Step into your true self, let go of what no longer serves you. Now is the perfect time to let fall away those layers of self that no longer feel relevant. She has a very similar feeling to our hawk, with her keen vision and a nurturing heart. This card is here to support you and let you know how powerful you truly are. Don’t lose sight of that.
The 7 of disk says that you have been putting in the hard work, and that your efforts will be rewarded! Keep walking the path you’ve chosen for yourself and success is yours! Be sure to keep your thoughts in line with your actions and continue to lay the groundwork for your future. You have all the tools and skills necessary, all that is required is persistence.
2./// deer jawbone, the moon, death reversed, prince of swords
Teeth are, in my opinion the most powerful parts of an animal. They are used for eating, shown for defense, considered a standard of beauty in our own culture. Deer teeth have always had a special place due to their patina from years of use. Deer are gentle creatures whose teeth are gentle and delicate. They walk softly on this world. We could learn many lessons from them.
The moon is a card which calls to our shadow selves. It shines light onto something which is hidden and mostly considered unworthy of mention. It relates to our fears, our secrets, our pain. The things we keep hidden from others and sometimes even from ourselves. Take the time to shed light into the dark spaces of your soul to uncover the root of fear. Times right now are exposing the worst in many folks, and this is a direct mirror to what we have been trying to hide for so long about our culture. This outbreak is a mirror of the show self of our world and it is exposing all of us. However, this does not have to be a negative thing. Once light has been shed onto something, it can be fixed. It can be healed.
When death shows up in reverse, it can mean that something is hindering the progress of a transition that needs to happen. It can also relate to illness that doesn’t seem to go away. Many of us right now are feeling unwelcome in the world. This has shown us how much privilege in our lives we take for granted, living completely unaware of the struggles of others because of the health and security of our own lives. As a group of animals, we can do better. Drop the ego, see how you can make the world better, even if only for one.
The prince of swords call you to action. take your feelings of restlessness and put them to work. What actions can you take to help better the situation right now? Simple things like calling your loved ones to check in, or helping an elderly neighbor can be life changing. Do something now that will better your community, and it will help you to feel better.
3./// magnolia leaf, the star, the tower, queen of cups
Traditionally, magnolia signifies femininity and grace. It is also frequently associated with the south and hospitality as well as nobility. It gives the kind of energy that will wrap you up in a warm blanket after the rain, even though you came home at 3 am.
The imagery shown in the star card is a siren giving both blood and milk. This represents personal sacrifice and pain, but also nurturing. This card speaks to peace, and becoming into your own power. Radiant light shines from the heavens, giving blessings and balance. Find stability in grace during times like these, even if it means personal discomfort.
The tower is one of the most well-known cards in the Tarot, so its meaning precedes it. Honestly, no one would be surprised with it showing up in a collective reading right now. Chaos rules during these times. We sometimes have no choice but to ride the wave until its finished. When things get bad, look for the helpers. Be humble. Let go of your ego. Wear your heart on your sleeve, even if it is scary. How we act during upheaval determines how the pieces will land once things settle out.
Another card that suggests nurturing is the queen of cups. She calls you to get in touch with you inner mother. Emotions are overflowing all around us, and anxiety is high. Be the warm blanket and cup of tea the world needs right now. Let your light shine into those lives who might need it right now. You are strong and capable. Help to support those who can’t stand the bad weather.
