Witches We Love: Tim

March 12, 2020 by Witch Swap

Every week we feature one of our favorite witches from the community to help spread the love around and introduce you to potential new faces. Tim from @theseventhdoor has written a couple of our most popular blogs, so we figured it was time to re-introduce them to you! This is an interview from many months ago when we took the time to get to know Tim and their practice! We love the way they practice magick in everyday moments, as well as high ritual. You can also find Tim’s magick over at Odin’s Daughter Co. Tim also practices many different forms of divination from all over the world. You can book a reading through Odin’s Daughter Co. or through Direct Message on Instagram. We’ve had a couple readings and they all have been spot on.

Scroll down to read the full interview, and be sure to head over to Tim’s Instagram and give it a follow! You won’t be disappointed!

How did you come across your path?

An occult themed coffee shop opened up in Charlotte, North Carolina. At that point, I had been really into reading conspiracy theories and about secret societies. I went to check it out and saw they had tarot decks for sale. I thought, “eh, why not? It might be fun.” I got home and did my first reading for myself. It was very accurate and it made me wonder if there was actually something to this. I explored various methods of divination and that led to reading occult and magickal texts. While this was taking place, I gained an interest in herbalism and the metaphysical qualities of herbs. Spells and magick just started flowing out of me and felt very natural.

What lessons are you most excited about learning, or what are you struggling with?

I am excited to keep increasing on what I’ve learned. I’ve established my place with the gods and what I want to concentrate on in my practice, which is folk magick and divination. Now it’s just matter of being the best I can be at both.

Every region and culture had their own methods of divination and it is my goal to utilize as many as possible. I will always stick with my unachievable goal of learning everything.

What advice would you give to baby witches or your younger self?

Everything is magick. We exist in a world between the physical and metaphysical and this allows you to mold the world into what you see fit. Take your every day activities and turn them into something greater. Learn about the magickal qualities of the herbs you’re spicing your food with, add moon water to your coffee. Simple magick is in great abundance and can really increase your knowledge and quality of life.

Also, ALWAYS remember that you can get supplies and tools anywhere. Metaphysical shops are amazing and always appreciated, but if you’re in a geographical area that doesn’t allow access to one of these shops, the grocery store can always be your magick shop. Herbs, distilled water, sea salt, mason jars, twine, burning bowls, mortar and pestles. This can all be bought at your local market and really kick start you practice.

Last, READ READ READ. Magick transcends culture and historical religion. It is the oldest human practice. There is always more to learn and there will always be someone to learn from. Open your mind and open your heart and you will find your way.
