Go within, while within.

March 27, 2020 by Guest User

Most of us are indoors/self isolating/lockdown right now. And as we are contained within our homes and dwellings, I am lead to share more about “going within” our won beings now, and the magnificent power it holds.

Over the eons, many faith paths and forms of leadership and governments have taken great pains to map out the do's and don't of using its doctrine and living within their borders.

As if to herd its followers and residents into a specific mold and create a mindset that keeps their instincts at bay and disarms them from using their inner knowing.

A set of rules that utilizes fear, guilt, and pack mentality to control them, versus engaging their inner accountability, showing them their inherent power and allowing their sense of decency to be their guide.

By even lightly observing this over time, we see that it has made little difference to the moral code of man, as the "DON'TS" are ignored and the ego still rules supreme.

What it has done over time though is to reduce our connection to our own inner wisdom, our innate ability to know what is best for us, and to act on that wisdom, in a way that will benefit both the world we live in and those we love, including ourselves.

When we are not ruled by fear, facts are seen for what they are and it's harder to hype the need for war or panicked herd reactions as a solution, or for harming our home planet for our own convenience to seem right, and normal.

Our eyes see through the proverbial wool and we are not held by the same set of fears and delusions that the herd is. There's a sense of peace and freedom that are available to us, even in times of mass uncertainty.

We are living in a deeply turbulent, confusing and stressful time.

Let's not kid ourselves.

Anyone who watches the news or looks at social media will have, at the very least felt their anxiety rise.

That is TOTALLY normal. The world lives HYPED. This current situation makes that state exponencial.

What stops that anxiety consuming us and making our lives more stressful, is the inner knowing that we can control ourselves only . And there is A LOT we can do with that knowing and energy.

Being able to take action, when we feel helpless, is POWERFUL!

For me, I find a good antidote to anxiety and impending fear is indeed: ACTION.

*note, this is not REACTION. Reactivity is a fear response. We are looking to end that by using our intuition.

Rather than waffle more, I thought I'd get practical and note some ways to get a big 'ol grip on that inner voice. Much of the world is either in lockdown, or self-isolation/quarantine, so this is a time in which we can truly go inward, and us the time we have to grow our intuition.

As a S.A.H.W.M/homeEd Witch Mama with very little downtime, or silence around our home, I appreciate that you may be in the same boat right now. So I have kept these short, sweet and possible to do almost any and everywhere, in a crazy, running day of "entrapment with toddlers" or "there are SO many of us in here, what the hell?" type vibes

-I chuckle as I type now, as I swear these are my constant thoughts, even when not on lockdown. I'm a home-ed Mama, who is, however, a natural hermit, but still loves her OWN space, so time alone/free headspace, is a constant work in progress - I feel you all, this is no easy thing we do. But, we can do it with JOY.

ok, without further fuss,

3 ways to build a stronger connection with your intuition

1. KNOW WHO IS DRIVING:

If a situation makes you feel reactive, defensive and registers in your CHEST. Thumping heart, shallow breath, pure anxiety, it's likely that ego and fear are in all hands on the wheel. And as such, you may, or will be looking for someone else to lead the way here. NOT turning to your own self, in trust. This is the work of generations of leaders/doctrines training us to believe their will, not ours. Be gentle with yourself, forgive yourself for this way of feeling or thinking and move gently forward. It's ok to feel this way right now, you will learn not to in time.

If you are feeling this situation in your STOMACH, and although stressful, you are able to act in decisive ways to plan forward in the moment, without fear clouded judgment, your intuition is working beautifully. Keep up your connection and feed it with love!

This first exercise is just this. FEELING where your body receives the information, when under pressure.

Just allow yourself to recognize what your go-to response is. Is it fear or knowing? And know where in your body the moment registers. Observing is a lost art in modern society. Taking note of how we act is a massive step forward towards acknowledging and changing behaviors that no longer serve us.

And fear NEVER serves us.

2. LISTEN:

Yes, this feels often feels foreign at first, because we are used to being directed and told by others how we need to feel, react and respond to the world around us.

*This sentence may annoy and offend many who feel they are free thinkers, but even those of us who truly feel we are free of the "do this, do that" state of mind our leadership needs us in, are not, entirely. The ways in which we are lead and suggested to, as to how to exist are now so subtly ingrained, into our very psyches and beings and cultures, over generations of having to fall in line and be a part of the whole in a herded sense, verses an energetic or spiritual sense, leave us in a place where unless we are deeply aware, day-to-day, we are still influenced to only hear and feels what is needed to keep us in line.

But, when we just stop and actually tune in, we WILL hear messages. Our own messages though. Not the prescribed ones we are fed. Our intuition is constantly active, whether we listen to it or not. Quite often, it's why we may feel conflicted when 'told' to do something and it doesn't sit right with us.

The little whisperings that we first hear, may have us more filled with doubt and confusion at first, and that's ok too. Just sit with them. Hear them. Acknowledge them. Embrace them, with love. Even if you are not willing to take action at first.

If you've managed these two things - FEELING and LISTENING, you are already helping your intuition come online, and you are already learning to phase out what no longer serves you, and that is AMAZING!!

GO WITHIN:

I realize now is likely not the easiest time to find alone time, but even if it is five minutes before bed, or making certain you wake half an hour before the rest of your clan right now, it is worth the hassle. Honestly, there is NOTHING that tunes your intuition in better than going within.

for me, it’s the ULTIMATE GIFT I give myself daily. And it automatically becomes a gift to my family, as I am calmer and more in control for it.

Getting our minds to settle right now will undoubtedly be HARD. And I’ve popped an expert below from a post I wrote on my own blog called “3 really simple ways to get grounded FAST“ . It’s a short exercise in breathwork, to help you slow your body and mind. Very necessary when entering a state of stillness or meditation

Here's how it goes:
1. Stop for just a moment. Take one long breath in, feeling your lungs expand to capacity.
2. Hold it for the count of three.
3. Exhale slowly but firmly, pushing every inch of the air out.
4. Now, with your second inhale, go slower. Try to count to eight.
5. Hold for the count of 5
6. exhale to the count of eight.
7. Repeat at least twice more. You may notice you get goosebumps, as your body is nourished with all the beautiful oxygen-rich blood.

* If you feel light-headed, you are trying a tad too hard. Chill. It's not a competition.

** A fun extra witchy thing I like to do is to turn the breathwork into a small spell. And welcome good energy and prosperity/abundance for the moment I am looking to overcome in, on the inhale. I can literally feel the magick tingling through me when I hold for the count of 5. And the exhale, I banish what is stressing me. Essentially, I am giving my worried mind something constructive to focus on, other than my worries too. (Personally, I just LOVE spellwork that involves getting the tingles!

Ok, these three, simple things are the best way, I have found to tune into and work with my intuition. It’s like a muscle, it need work and consistency to grow.

If you can gift yourself and your loved ones this mind and heart opening exercise at this point, do. Connecting with ourselves deeply, allows us to connect with the collective, our own higher selves and indeed, our guides too. The more we expand our intuition and nourish it with love, and attention, the harder it works for us, and the sooner we can get on top of the feeling of overwhelm, anxiety and helplessness.

Remember also, the only thing we can ever control is ourselves. It’s a choice to proactively engage in practices that help us control ourselves better.

What is happening the world over right now, is beyond the control of most, but it is well within each of our power to approach each day in control of ourselves.

Which in turn, makes facing uncertainty, easier.

Be safe my friends. Take care and be kind to yourself and others.

From my heart to yours
