Ya’ll may have noticed the changes we are making here at Witch Swap, and while we are super excited about our new look, and the renewed energy and flow we are finding. It’s the magick behind the newness that has our hearts feeling full!

When I first met Witch Swap founder Jane - @spirit.and.bones eighteen months or so ago, I was struck by how openhearted, non-judgemental, and caring she was.

It’s a gift she that has kept sharing with the world tirelessly, and in doing so, has single-handedly created a community of 13 400 beings on our insta acc @witchswap! We all experience her caring each day with the time and effort she takes to connect witches the world over, with the best possible fit she can, encouraging snail mail package and letter swaps and exchanges filled with just the same caring and love she applies to everything she does.

The other thing I loved about meeting and befriending Jane, was the sharing that happened because of her #witchswapcircle hashtag.

And, I have, because of this magickal little string of letters, found some of the most incredible people I have ever met. Learned more than I ever imagined I would, about both my Kraft, and about myself as a being, flowing within a community of diverse and fascinating witches.

Recently, our wonderful friend Jane took some big personal knocks and her life got tougher. She forged on as hard as she could, alone, eventually reaching a point of not being certain if she should let go, or reach out. She chose to reach out and take a hand and in taking mine, we formed a circle of care, trust, and loving energy, just as her #witchswapcircle implies.

And that sparked the idea for the logo above we now step forward with.

Circles.

They are everything really.

We cast them in magick. They protect us.

We sat in them in the eons gone by, around fires, sharing wisdom and connection. They are cycles. Life. Death. They are infinite and womb-like, healing. The Moon is round (circle) so too every planet in our solar system. Our life-giving sun too.

Symbolically, we just love the circle!

But personally, we have such a deeper wish and aim for our Witch Swap Circle.

Jane and I have spoken countless times about what is happening the world over, and our yearning to help in some way to see true equality, and more spaces where all are welcome, respected, loved, and revered for their beliefs, their wisdom, their heritage has brought us here.

We also know that the outlook of the community has been Eurocentric leaning. And while we know we are not ’new” or ‘groundbreaking” by making change, we know that this is needed for us to serve our community with true love and respect.

Creating a space in which we do our best, through co-creation with our beautiful community to share witchy cultures, and kraft freely, in ways that uplift, educate, and inspire.

These kinds of spaces help us to express ourselves.

Without them, there are barriers to having the magickal beings in this world - who wield their power for good and transformation-,be able to find each other, cross-culture, race, and history. And that stand in the way of us all to amplifying our ability to bring healing, and move us forward to a space of being able to truly begin working with the pains of the past and present and build a future that indeed is for EVERYONE.

We offer that our humble Circle may be a way forward for those in our community. And we will work towards it being so.

Witch Swap isn't just about swapping packages, going forward. - Although that option still remains core to our offering.

We are working towards it also becoming a platform that honors and celebrates all witches. From all paths, ethnicities, and cultures.

Witch Swap is about swapping stories. Swapping wisdom about our diverse cultures. Swapping respect. Swapping understanding, empathy, and our ability to witness each other without gatekeeping or unknowing appropriation.

Jane said it so beautifully when she said “It’s about appreciation, not appropriation.”

Our circle and swap can be so, so, sooooo much more than we realized at first. And they are the way we hope to help witches move forward, through connection, into a space of seeing, hearing, and learning each other more freely.

We see a future held by magick, love and equality.

Our community and circle is everyone and anyone. We are so diverse! Magnificently so!

And we need to celebrate that to move forward!

We’ve seen the call: “Rise the witches!” and we feel it too! Deep in our bones.

But we know we won't rise as powerfully, if we rise separately, with racial and cultural divides keeping the magick of open hearts and minds contained in the pain of our pasts.

We want to begin working harder at RISING TOGETHER!

More consciously. Intentionally. By learning each other better. Honoring our histories and cultures, and witnessing our individual Krafts?

The power in coming together. Joining hands, minds, hearts...magick. Honoring each type of witch, and never expecting them to conform.

I get all teary and goosebumpy just thinking about it!

This is the future I want to live in and Gandhi said “BE THE CHANGE.”

So we will! To the best of our ability. For us all.

And so we offer you to join our circle. - Come sit with us.

Around the fire in our hearts and warm and nourish yourself, share your stories, and amplify all our magick, together, as the witches we ARE.
